This 11 oz. cup features a male Anna's hummingbird nectaring on a pomegranate flower. As a science illustrator, I always aim to offer information about my subject matter! The text on the other side of the cup reads:
This stunning hummingbird is found along the West Coast from Canada to Mexico. While the females migrate south for the winter, most males tough out the winter in the colder climes to protect their territories.
These little sweeties are fairly common on backyard feeders, but they love to nectar on flowering plants like gooseberries and currants. They also eat small insects such as midges and leafhoppers.
